Hello {{First name | there}},

You’ve got content out there. Maybe you’re checking your stats.
But here’s a question that stops people in their tracks:

“What are you going to do if that number goes up or down?”

Let me explain.

If you skipped the previous emails, this is part of the Analytics Made Simple series.
Here’s the link so you can find all of the email series from Grow with OptSus.

The Tourist Attraction

I once helped a large tourism business migrate to Google Analytics 4 and connect it to BigQuery.

They had access to a firehose of data.

Pageviews, scroll depth, conversions, bounce rates, dwell time—hundreds of metrics at their fingertips.

But when we sat down to decide what to put in the reports, I asked:
“If this number changes… what decision will it affect?”

Silence.

Eventually they admitted: most of their reports weren’t helping them make better decisions.

So we simplified. Instead of chasing more numbers, we focused on fewer that were directly tied to strategy.

🧱 This week’s step:

Pick one stat you’ve been tracking.
Traffic. Followers. Email opens. Anything.

Then ask:

  • Would this number change a decision I’d make?

  • If not, why am I tracking it?

If it’s not actionable, stop wasting time on it.

Talk soon,
Frank

P.S.
Not sure which numbers matter?
Reply and share one stat you’ve been tracking.
I’ll tell you if it’s worth watching—or just noise.
